Eat what you buy and buy what you need. Twenty-seven percent of all food produced in North America is wasted. Don't be shy to doggy-bag the half plate of food that you didn't eat.

27% is shameful...more than 1/4 of food produced in Canada and the USA is just thrown out. Tsk, tsk North Americans....other countries are starving and we just throw it away like it's nothing!

This sounds like a giveaway topic. Watch for a new giveaway this week!

It's unsettling to see how much food that us North Americans waste each and every day! This giveaway will focus on ideas on how to reduce the amount of food waste by reworking leftovers into NEW meal ideas!!

TASK:

Share the details of the original dinner and then how you have re-worked the leftovers to make an entirely new meal idea.

For example: We make too many boiled potatoes a lot of the time for dinner, so we cut up the leftovers into 1/4 inch slices and fry up for breakfast or put into the oven to roast with some spices for a snack.

ENTERING:

You may enter the contest only ONE time weekly. Opens on March 10, 2011 and the first random draw will take place on March 24th.

PRIZES:

Every 2nd Thursday, a winner will be randomly drawn from the entries to win a $5 gift card from Shoppers Drug Mart or the winner may choose to donate their prize to purchase $5 worth of food products to be donated to food drives/banks.
If we get lots of participants, then the game will continue on an ongoing basis.

ELIGIBILITY:

Open to all forum members. Maximum of 1 entry per week, per person. The first draw date is today, March 24th! Next draw date is April 7, 2011.

Baskin Robbins 2011's 31 Cent Scoop Night takes place on April 27/11

2011 Baskin Robbins 31¢ Scoop Night

On Wednesday, April 27th from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Baskin Robbins will host its third annual 31 Cent Scoop Night in support of the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation (CFFF)*.

The charitable event will roll out across all Baskin Robbins locations in Canada.**

31 Cent Scoop Night invites Canadians to enjoy a 2.5 oz. scoop of their favourite ice cream flavour (served in a cup or cone) or a 3 oz. Soft Serve cone for only 31 cents each.*** All customers will also have the opportunity to make a donation to the CFFF while in-store.

31 Cent Scoop Night is an exciting night out for the whole family to enjoy an evening of ice cream while, at the same time, paying tribute to our nation's fallen firefighting heroes. Some locations will be hosting additional activities, including having local firefighters on-site to assist in serving ice cream and giving tours of their fire trucks.

It's Money Back Monday! Earn cash-back today!

On April 3, 2009 Freebies Deals And Rewards began offering cash rewards for activities performed at the forums.
