Big Donation To Clearview Public Library

On March 7, Freebies Deals And Rewards made a huge donation of new resources to our local library. The Clearview Public Library was the lucky recipient of nearly $3000 in brand new children's books, novels, hardcovers, movies and puppets. This donation lot was accumulated over the years through deals found at promotional sales, using coupons and checking clearance and closeout sales.

32 hand puppets were donated, including Clifford The Big Red Dog, Franklin The Turtle, plus a range of animals and insects. Puppets are great for bringing life to stories! Our library has storytelling for the kids, so these should be a wonderful addition to the programmed events.

 

 There were 40 finger puppets for storytelling enhancement too! From Franklin The Turtle to Canadian animals to the 5 little ducks plus many more. The librarian at our branch made us feel good when she asked if we would mind the library using these in the fundraising auction or as prizes for events. This donation was made to our library to help with needed resources or funding other necessary resources as they see fit. We're just ecstatic that we can make such a contribution!!

 

 The children's books included great authors such as: Mercer Mayer, Dr. Seuss, Robert Munsch, Margret and H.A. Rey, Eric Carle, plus many more. Including partial series such as: Franklin The Turtle, Curious George, The Berenstain Bears, Disney and more totalling 53 kids hardcover and board books, plus 76 kids softcover books.

Another 45 books and novels for older readers were also in this donated lot. Libraries have a vast selection of media types these days, so we also included 34 DVD's, 2 audiobooks and a chunky board puzzle to help children learn the food groups produced by the Dairy Farmers of Canada. 

Since we we're already making the donation of the new resources, we gathered a few books, magazines, and a Nintendo Wii game that have already been enjoyed by us, for others in our community to enjoy as well. It's really great to help out others! The entire lot contained over 275 brand new resources and 11 lightly used resources.

Using your local library to borrow books, movies, games, etc is a superb way to save money. Our library system has saved us tons of cash over the years. We borrow reference books, novels and movies that we would otherwise buy. My husband likes to watch 1-2 movies per day, when he can, so the costs really pile up over a period of time using any other method than borrowing. If you haven't visited your local library in a while, Google them or drop in to see what they have to offer. You might be surprised! Some large cities even have museum passes on loan! With March Break starting tomorrow, this is an excellent time to check out your local library's March Break programming.

My Walmart and Sobeys Shopping Deals

The deal on soup this week (March 2-8) was a bit too good to pass up for only $0.50 per can at Walmart. But if you we're lucky enough to trade or find a couple of the $1 off when you buy 4 Campbell's products coupon like I did, then the cans would cost you only $0.25 each.

I had 2 of the P&G Brandsaver coupon inserts and 1 of the P&G Brandsaver coupon mailouts, to take advantage of the non-restrictive wording coupon for 'any size' Crest Pro Health Rinse and FREE Oral B floss when you buy 'any' Crest Pro Health Rinse. The cashier at Walmart questioned the rinse coupon because of the size, so I just pointed out that there was no size restriction as it stated 'any size', that was good enough for her. When I gave her the free floss coupon, she saw the wording 'any Crest Pro Health Rinse' and rang it through no problems. Knowing the wording on coupons is extremely important for smooth couponing transactions.

The French's Mustard with FREE Frank's Red Hot Sauce was purely an impulsive buy! The shelf price was $2.49 and I had a coupon on me for $1 off any French's from the Game Day Coupon Booklet. So for only $1.49 I got 2 large bottles of sauce! In my opinion, it was better than the advertised deal of $1.99 for French's mustard only before applying the coupon.
